Birthday fit for a PRINCESS!

She’s cute and sweet and so much fun, this little PRINCESS  has turned ONE!  That’s right, little Miss M turned one! (back in September that is)  I love this family and this precious little girl.   I am so glad that I was able to make it to town for her birthday, here are just a few pictures from Miss M’s special day!

{Time to put your dancing shoes on}

My sister is a dancer….ballet to be exact, since becoming a mommy she has put her dancing shoes away.  I thought it was “time to put her dancing shoes on” again, and that she did!  Monkey was finally big enough to fit into her first pair of ballet shoes she has and I started clicking away.  Monkey was in the best mood and showed us all of her many expressions!  I’ve always loved ballet and I’ve always loved watching my sister dance so it was extra special to me to be able to capture some of the sweetest moments between my sister and my monkey.  This may be my favorite session ever!

Little Miss M

I’d like for you to meet Little Miss M; she and her mom are good family friends of ours; I was honored when her mom asked me to do a photoshoot with her. It took a little bit for Miss M to warm up to me, especially with the big camera and bright flash I kept putting in her face, but after reading some books and playing outside we were able to get some great pictures!  Here are a few of my favorites!

Smiles, Sun and Swings

During a visit back home one weekend KGR and I got to spend the entire day with chunky monkey!  The day started early for us, especially on a Saturday, and to our surprise when we arrived to my sisters house our little monkey was still sleeping.  She soon woke up, ate breakfast, and then off to Starbuck’s we went before my hair appointment.  Uncle KGR got to spend some quality time with monkey while I got my hair done.  After the salon we decided to take monkey to the park, this was her first time going to the park and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.  She absolutely loved the swings, we took a short walk and crawled around the playground, we tried to slide but it was already getting too hot, you gotta’ love Texas summers!  It was getting close to monkey’s nap time so we decided to head back to my parents house and before we knew it monkey was fast asleep.  This was such a perfect day with one of the most perfect little girls!

Business or Pleasure?

To answer the question…a lot of business, but I was able to escape a bit for some sight seeing and hang out with a friend of mine!  Where is this place I speak of you ask? That would be LAS VEGAS baby!  I was asked by my employer to go to a convention in Las Vegas in May of this year.  This was my first time going to Vegas and my first time EVER to travel alone.  It was a little scary at first because I was the first person arriving in Vegas, but I fortunately had a friend that was also in town on business that I was able to meet up with.  We went to dinner at the Cosmopolitan hotel, ate some delicious pasta and salad at D.O.C.G., walked around The Chandelier, and then we called it a night.  The atmosphere at the Cosmopolitan was simple, elegant, chill, crazy, energetic and diverse in so many ways while staying true to Las Vegas character.  The next morning before I headed to the convention center my friend and I decided to eat the most wonderful and fulfilling breakfast I think I’ve ever eaten (you can check out the menu here Hash House a Go Go).  Then it was time to try and burn off some of those calories we just stuffed our faces with by doing some sight seeing.  I said my goodbyes and then put in a full day’s work before the convention started the following day.  I was able to get out the last night to catch the water show and see the Vegas strip lit up in all its glory.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot…I also had the chance to revert back into childhood mode for a bit while visiting the Sugar Factory.  That wraps up my first visit to Las Vegas! I had a great time, the convention went well, and I will be heading back next May. However, I sure was glad to be back home. I missed my KGR and “mini” Cooper so much!  Now it’s time for you to sit back and enjoy the show!

Because every girl needs pearls!

This was an impromptu photo shoot when I was visiting home one weekend.  This happened on shuch a whim that these are all taken from my camera phone; a few pearl necklaces, a big bow, a soft blanket and a zebra background is all it took for these pictures!  My chunky monkey was 6 months old at this shoot… Get ready to fall in love with this precious baby girl because she definitely has the hearts of everyone in our family!

Well, there you have it, some of my favorite pictures from the  pearls photo shoot!  Little did L.T. know this was going to be the first of many photo shoots with Aunt Nell!

Chunky Monkey

As you know family is a huge part of my life.  If I’m not with my family I’m usually on the phone with them.  I am the oldest of 5 kids from a blended family, I have one “step”brother, one “half”brother, and 2 “half”sisters, I am so blessed to have all 4….yes 4 of the parents that I have.  I have a big family and I love every crazy, loud second of it!  One of my younger sisters had a baby girl, my chunky monkey, September 23, 2010.  I can’t believe she’s already ONE! (I’ll post the birthday pictures later)  She truly is one of the best babies ever, she always has a smile on her face and loves to show off her many facial expressions.  My sister and brother-in-law are some of the best parents, they love their baby girl unconditionally and it is so sweet to see the love that they have for each other overflow for the love they have for precious L.T.  I was looking through old pictures and came across these pictures of L.T. during her first few months in our crazy family.

Coming home from the hospital (sent to me by my sister….Kyle and I were traveling to see them, we couldn’t wait to get there!)

Uncle Kyle (my boyfriend)  first time holding chunky monkey

Aunt Nell’s first time holding chunky monkey (I am such a proud aunt!)

Cooper (my dog) was always close to L.T. making sure that she was okay

Isn’t she doll-like?!

Sweet, sweet hands

This was during a visit at Aunt Nell’s, I let my sister and brother-in-law have a night off and I got up with L.T. during the night, those were some of the sweetest moments!

Well, that’s my chunky monkey, she’s the sweetest, cuddliest, most adorable baby girl….not to mentiont she’s the first grandaughter in the family but she’s not spoiled at all…promise! 😉  You’ll be seeing a lot more of this cutie, she’s so easy to photograph!
